Do I need to compete?

No, absolutely not. Over 90% of our members do not compete in fight nights or tournaments, it is a choice that is entirely up to you. If you wish to compete our coaches are here to help guide you through the process of having zero knowledge to then being able to have competitive experience. When you join our community-run facility, we are here to guide you to a better you by improving yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally.


Who will be my coach?

Sam and Scott Allan are the founders of Rivals Gym

with the two brothers being the head coaches of our boxing and martial arts programs. They have been taking part in martial arts classes since the age of 4 and 5 years old and the sport of boxing since they were 11 and 12 years old. The brothers started coaching when they left school Sam, in 2006 and Scott in 2008 and since then they have won countless Scottish, British, European, and World amateur titles before turning professional and reaching the pinnacle of kickboxing fighting for and winning the professional WORLD titles over 12 rounds, Although both brothers won their world titles in Knockout fashion! Since winning their world titles both brothers turned professional boxing with Scott picking up the Scottish and Celtic titles and Sam studying a Masters in sport and exercise science. Through many years of coaching Rivals Gym has produced many champions both inside and outside the ring. 3. What equipment do I need?

For your first session just bring yourself, follow up sessions you should have a pair of gloves which can be bought in the gym or here.


4. How can I pay for my membership?

Payments are taken monthly by direct debit, which will be set up in the gym after your trial lesson, which you can book here.
